Algarve Resorts - Montegordo
Monday, 16th November 2009
Montegordo is on the Eastern side, about 30 miles from Faro, and 12 miles from Tavira.
The resort is less than two miles from the Spanish border, and has one of the longest beaches on The Algarve, well over two miles of long, white sand. The waters are wonderfully warm, making Montegordo a holidaymakers dream. The waters have been tested, and found to be several degrees warmer than along the remainder of the shoreline.
As well as a tourist resort, Montegordo is a working fishing port, ensuring the freshest produce for the town’s restaurants. Montegordo is a fairly new resort, but rapidly becoming popular. The landscape is different to most of The Algarve, with the beaches being surrounded by sand dunes rather than cliffs and rocks. The town boasts a new casino, where visitors can enjoy a nice dinner and a flutter, or two. There are lots of bars and nice restaurants.
This is perfect location for a family beach holiday. Book a holiday soon, before it gets too crowded.
