Places to Visit - Aljezur
Monday, 16th November 2009
Aljezur is on the West coast, 65 miles from Faro, and about 20 miles from Lagos. The town is the centre of large agricultural activies, with sweet potatoes and peanuts being the main crops. The beaches are surrounded by cliffs, and are mainly wild and windy. They have a secuded look, and rarely attract large numbers of visitors.
Fishing is very popular along the coast, and you will see lots of anglers perched precariously on the rocks, looking for sea bass and sea bream.
The town itself is interesting, and well worth a visit for visitors wanting a break from the beaches. The most noise you will hear is the Atlantic Ocean crashing against the cliffs.
