Places to Visit - Lagoa

Lagoa is a small inland town, now an administrative centre, just 5 miles from Portimao, and close to Carvoeiro. The town of Silves is 5 miles further inland.
This is a pleasant town to visit for a day trip. The town’s main event of the year takes place in August, when a national rural products fair is held. Goods from all over the country are offered for sale. The fair is accompanied by lots of festivities including music, dancing, and lots of food and wine. Definitely an event not to be missed.
In September there is another festival called Fiesta de Nossa Senhora, which is celebrated throughout the region.
